Following Kyari’s alleged involvement in a $1.1 million Internet fraud reportedly conducted by accused wire fraudster Abbas Ramon, also known as “Hushpuppi,” and five others, IGP Alkali Baba established the panel.

According to the FBI, Kyari imprisoned Kelly Chibuzor for one month at Hushpuppi’s request in order for the latter and his co-conspirators to defraud their Qatari victim of over $1.1 million.

Hushpuppi also paid $20,600 to two bank accounts allegedly provided by the former IRT commander on January 20, 2020, according to the agency.

The public has no knowledge of Kyari’s defense before the panel.

Meanwhile, DCP Tunji Disu, Kyari’s replacement as head of the Intelligence Response Team, returned to work on Tuesday.
