Press Release Re: Baba Ijesha Child molestation Case
Following the alleged molesting of a 14-year-old foster girl of comedienne princess by popular Nollywood actor, James Olanrewaju, known as Baba Ijesha, the Lagos State Government has given its take on the matter and has ensured that Justice will be served if the accused is found guilty.
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, comedienne Princess, and others yesterday stormed the SCID, Panti, to protest alleged plans to release the accused by the police.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Lagos, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, however, told newsmen that there were no plans to release the suspect as rumored.
A press release informed the members of the public that the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual violence’s Team is actively following up on the Baba Ijesha case “we are also in direct contact with the compliant with view to providing the necessary support”
Lagos state domestic and sexual violence’s team also confirmed that the duplicate case file has been forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice
Members of the public are waiting anxiously to see how this whole saga will End
It is further highlighted that some sections of the Law dealing with the act and the likely punishment if Baba Ijesha is found guilty.
