Be neutral during Anambra guber poll, IGP charges MOPOL commanders

Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has ordered the force’s mobile squadron commanders to remain neutral during the governorship election in Anambra State on November 6, 2021.

The IGP said the election security action plan would centre upon units of the Police Mobile Force during a first meeting with them yesterday in Abuja (PMF).

“The decision to convene this meeting was informed by the need to create a forum for brainstorming on current internal security developments, reappraise the role of the PMF, as the force’s most strategic tactical and operational arm, review professional issues in relation to PMF personnel’s activities, and evolve a more potent strategy,” Baba said.
