Buhari receives Ayade, Matawalle as APC holds congresses

Governors Ben Ayade and Bello Matawalle of Cross River and Zamfara states, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), met with President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday (APC).

Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the party’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), and his Kebbi counterpart and chair of the Progressive Governors Forum, Atiku Bugudu, and their Jigawa colleague, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, escorted the duo to the State House in Abuja.

Buhari praised the two state chief executives for joining the party by handing them the party flags.

Buni said the newcomers were drawn in by the President’s accomplishments, and that the party’s ward, local government, and state congresses would begin on July 31.
