Euro 2020- One dead, several injured as Italians Celebrates

In Italy, one person died and numerous others were injured as the country celebrated their triumph over England in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.

After a 1-1 draw in regular and extra time, Italy won the title in London for the first time since 1968 with a 3-2 penalty shootout victory.

According to authorities, a 22-year-old man died in a car accident in Caltagirone, Sicily, while he was heading to the town center to join victory celebrations.

When the post-match partying in Milan grew boisterous, 15 people were injured, three of them critically. When a firework exploded in one of their hands, he lost three fingers.

Police suspect a hitman took advantage of the confusion in the streets in a village near the southern city of Foggia to settle a score, shooting his target among the crowd before fleeing on a motorcycle.

The victim’s six-year-old niece was also injured in the incident, and she was said to be in “extremely severe” condition by the media.
