Juventus Wins Coppa Italia After Beating Atalanta

Juventus beat Atalanta 2-1 to win the Italian Cup for the 14th time on Wednesday as fans returned to the stadium for the first time in over a year.

Juventus struck first in the 31 minutes with a precise cut back on the goal line from Weston Mckenie finds Dejan Kulusevski right in front of goal and he easily buries the ball inside the left post

In the dying minutes of the first half Atlanta drew level when Hans Hateboer pulls the ball back for Ruslan Malinovsky on the edge of the box, and he beats the keeper with a fine strike inside the right post.

Pirlo’s side stepped it up after the break and Chiesa fired home his 13th goal in all competitions this season in the 73rd minute to spark jubilant scenes among the Juve players and staff at the final whistle.

“It was wonderful for everyone,” Chiesa told Rai Sport. “For those who have suffered in recent months.”

“We players are protected but there are people out there who have suffered and are suffering. It is a reward for the efforts made in these difficult months.”

It was Juventus’s first Coppa Italia since 2018, having finished runners-up last year to Napoli.
