#BoycottThePlatform- Many Nigerians have taken to social media to express their concern over the invitation offered to Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to appear as one of the speakers in this years ThePlatform Conference.

ThePlatform conference, a gathering of not just Christians but like-minded Nigerians, founded and organized by Pastor Poju Oyemade the Senior Pastor of of Covenant Christian Centre, Lagos has over the years become a platform where national issues are also discussed, drawing dignitaries across many sectors and global audience numbering thousands.

However, what took the cleric years to build is now suffering reputation damage the moment Nigerians got to know that the Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai would be among the guest speakers.

One Twitter user that go by the username  @cremechi11revealed that she would not be attending this year’s event if the Kaduna State Governor would be among the speakers. “I will not be attending or engaging in anything concerning The Platform as long as Elrufai is on it. #BoycottThePlatform” She expressed.

She further explained that inviting El-Rufai to the platform is like insulting the collective intelligence of Nigerians. Dear

@pastorpoju we are annoyed and disgusted! We are insulted, that you would bring an ethnic jingoist into such a prestigious gathering. Especially one who has slandered the Christian faith. We will have NOTHING to do with you till the evil man is gone. #BoycottThePlatform
El-Rufai is regarded as the master of foul languages who has made many statements that threatens the peace of Nigerians, especially Christians. Most Nigerians consider him unfit to stand on the podium where Christians are gathered and other meaningful Nigerians are gathered to speak.
As his call for his removal as one of the guest speakers for the prestigious platform heightens, Nigerians wait to see if Pastor Poju Oyemade would bow to pressure or turn the other eye.
