Ogun restricts movement for LG elections

The Ogun State Government has issued a nationwide movement restriction on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow for the conduct of local government elections.

The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), which is conducting councilor and chairmanship elections in all 236 wards across the state’s 20 local government areas, imposed the ban, according to the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odusile.

During the time that the limitation is in effect, however, voters will be free to move to the other side of the street.

The statement advised the electorate to be peaceful and avoid any action that would ruin Ogun State’s hard-won reputation as one of the country’s most peaceful states.
