Politicians are obstructing Oransaye’s implementation-FG

Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Federation’s Head of Civil Service, has remarked that the Oransaye report is excellent for the country, but has immediately added that politicians with vested interests are sure that it sees the light of day.

She added that certain aspects of the study have been implemented over time, with the cancellation and merger of agencies being the last outstanding part.

Yemi-Esan spoke at the Aig-Imoukhuede Institute of Public Leadership Programme in Abuja Wednesday, receiving questions from attendees.

She, on the other hand, remained tight-lipped on the rumored N900 billion budget for some of the affected agencies.

Meanwhile, the Head of Sector stated that the pay gap in the civil service was widening and causing unnecessary stress by the day.

Despite this, she promised that the issue will be resolved before the end of the year.

Recall that government servants have been agitating about the issue for years, particularly at the federal level, where some staff in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) receive higher compensation despite their entry-level qualifications.

This situation has not only caused resentment among workers, but it has also hampered the government’s ability to carry out its duties.
