On Monday, comedienne Princess, told the Lagos State Special Offences Court in the Ikeja region how she met controversial Nollywood star Baba Ijesha.
Princess claims she met Baba Ijesha at an event in 2008 and the two decided to collaborate on comedy skits.
Baba Ijesha wooed her during their working relationship, according to the comedian, but she declined his proposal.
After then, Princess stated she became close to the actor, especially after her marriage ended in 2013.
The comedian claimed she put money into Baba Ijesha’s schooling, and the actor later paid her a visit at her house.
Princess also told Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo about the allegation of child abuse against the actor, which included Baba Ijesha and actress Iyabo Ojo.
As at the time of reporting this story, Baba Ijesha has yet to comment. Babatunde Ogala SAN represented him, among others, while Olayinka Adeyemi represented the prosecution, the Lagos State Government.
Baba Ijesha has been at the center of a storm since April 22, 2021, when the Lagos State Police Command announced his arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Princess’ care.
The actor, who is being tried by Justice Taiwo over charges bothering on rape, sexual assault and abuse of a minor, was granted bail on the ground that it was his fundamental human rights.
The actor was charged on six counts of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault, which contravene sections 259, 135, and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, as well as 135, 263, and 262 Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The court subsequently granted Baba Ijesha bail on June 24, 2021.
