UK court jails a Nigerian for raping 13-year-old girl

Adeyinka Ajose was sentenced to 18 years in jail by the Croydon Crown Court in England for sexually assaulting a teenager.

The 64-year-old Nigerian-born man was sentenced on Thursday after admitting to many sexual offenses against the victim, according to a statement on the Metropolitan Police website.

The investigating officer, Matthew Amos, stated, “Those who exploit the confidence of the most vulnerable in our society are some of the most insidious offenders.”

“Ajose’s crimes were genuinely awful, and the sentence he received reflects that.

“Ajose’s campaign of abuse may possibly have continued if the victim had not had the fortitude to come forward.”

Four counts of rape of a female kid under the age of 13, one count of sexual assault of a female child under the age of 13, and one count of assault/ill-treatment of a minor were found against Ajose.

On November 10, 2020, at 21:1 3 hrs, police were dispatched to a home address in Addington, Croydon, according to the court.

The victim alleged that she was sexually abused by Ajose for several months. Ajose was subsequently arrested and was charged on November 13 and remanded in custody for trial.

“I urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse or who knows anything about it, to come forward to police,” Amos said.

“We have specially trained officers who will listen to and support you.”
