World’s top ten wealthiest individuals made $222 billion in six months

In the last six months, the world’s wealthiest people have seen incredible gains. According to the Bloomberg billionaires index, ten of the wealthiest people in the world have made a total of $221.52 billion in the last six months.

The CEO of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH), Bernard Arnault, is the greatest dollar gainer within this elite club, with gains of $56.7 billion year to far. He is currently the world’s third wealthiest person, with a fortune of $171 billion derived from his business empire of more than 70 businesses, including Sephora.

The founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, are media-shy billionaires who have made fair gains, with investors increasingly holding on to the computer behemoth’s stock.

Larry Page, who is worth $112 billion, made $29.2 billion in the last six months, while Sergey Brin, who is worth $108 billion, made $28.1 billion in the same time frame. In just six months, these Google billionaires made a total of $57.3 billion.

Mark Zuckerberg, the youngest person ever to be worth more than $100 billion, recently received a major lift after Facebook became the fifth American corporation to reach a $1 trillion valuation in only 17 years.

Following a recent favorable legal judgement, stock traders and global investors poured into Facebook Shares (the owners of Instagram and Whatsapp) for a 6-month gain of $25.8 billion, putting the founder of Facebook’s wealth at $129 billion.

Steve Ballmer, the former CEO of Microsoft, has a net worth of $97.5 billion, with gains of $1 billion so far this year.

He is best known for owning the Los Angeles Clippers basketball franchise, with a 4 percent interest in Microsoft accounting for the majority of his money.

Elon Musk, the outspoken tech entrepreneur, is best known for changing Tesla, the world’s most valuable carmaker. His fast-growing space exploration company, SpaceX, has made a $16 billion profit in the last six months, putting his net worth at $186 billion.

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, the world’s largest software corporation, has a net worth of $146 billion and has made $14.3 billion in profits so far this year. The world’s fourth richest person now owns $60.9 billion in cash.

Warren Buffett, the CEO, Chairman, and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway, is projected to be worth $101 billion after posting $13.5 billion in half-year gains.

The self-made billionaire, who is 90 years old, is well-known for his frugality and for selling chewing gum door to door at the age of six.

Oracle’s creator, Larry Ellison, has a net worth of $92.6 billion dollars. Year-to-date gains for the tech mogul had totaled $12.2 billion. After purchasing 3 million shares in Tesla, the software billionaire has been on the board of directors for nearly two years.
