Zubby Michael, a Nollywood actor, has declared himself Africa’s highest-paid and most successful actor in Nigeria

In an interview with The Broadway TV, Michael said that he is currently Africa’s biggest actor.

”No cap! I am the biggest actor in Africa. To God be the glory. I don’t think anyone is bigger than me for now,” the actor revealed.

“For now, I am the richest actor. The last time I checked my book, I realized I had made nothing less than N102 million from actor’s fee lately. Not in all my career, just of recent. I have a book where I write all the films that I have been in and how much they pay me.”

The celebrity actor, who recently made his way into Nollywood’s movie industry, also revealed the secret to his commercial success. Michael credited his success in Nollywood to his ability to interpret his characters as naturally as possible, while acknowledging his miraculous grace.

With Funke Akindele-Bello and JJC Skillz’ top grossing movie ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga,’ Zubby Michael had his big break in the cinema section of Nollywood in 2020. Since then, he has been in films like as ‘My Village People’ and Kayode Kasum’s ‘Ponzi.’

The actor explained that the reason for his departure from Asaba filmmaking was strategic. He says he wants to get into Hollywood after a successful career in Nollywood on the big screen.

Michael, a great believer in the Asaba sector, stated how successful it has been this year despite their outdated filmmaking approach. “We make commercial movies in Asaba, and we have a huge market,” Michael said, citing YouTube and other forms of distribution as examples.

Zubby Michael made his acting debut in the 2007 romance drama ‘Missing Rib,’ which also starred Ramsey Nouah and Tonto Dikeh. He claimed in a Broadway TV interview before to his debut that his first acting role was in a music video for one of Patience Ozokwor’s hit tunes.
